Meet Many

Ormand or Many for short was conceived and is played by Tony who in real life works for a prison rehabilitation program.

Ormand... Many for short

Class: Mage

Caste and subcaste: Healing, herbal

Not in any relationship, but in love with all women. A hopeless romantic.

Ormand is somewhat of a lost soul... An orphan wondering who his real parents were... Lacking memory before the age of 5, during which time he was left at the door of an herbal doctor (and his trophy wife?). Consequently Ormand developed affinities for women and herbs. His earliest memories being of his foster mother (Delight) and of being out in the herb garden with her as she picked herbs for my foster father (Ormand Senior... whom I was obviously named after even though the SOB never liked the idea of having me around anyway). Ormand Senior, kind of a party animal, was rumored around town to have been dating several women, and was a bit too keen on drinking ale the local pubs (assuming there are some :-) Ormand did learn some spells from Ormand Senior, but he really didn't have the proper guidance, and so had to rely much on his own intuition. Ormand also did what he could to teach himself. He has a fascination for studying all things magical and mysterious... probably intensified by his hopes that he may find out some info about his parents while looking for magic scripts to read, etc. Ormand also has a fascination with studying and identifying magical items... A trade which he puts a lot of energy into because he sees it as a survival skill he might have to use if he ever fails at his career as an herbalist... Ormand has deep seated emotional wounds and almost expects his career to fail. He can be both courageous in his attempts and yet expecting failure at the same time... Maybe he doesn't really care if he has to live so may occasionally take risks that seem to lack wisdom... often these risks are for aiding some good cause. Ormand has somewhat of a difficult time casting spells at times and he also is a bit awkward when casting spells... perhaps due to his hodgepodged attempts at putting this and that together to learn spells he was never properly taught... he may still meet a more proper mentor... who knows.

Ormand is actually awkward at more than just spell casting. He feels like an outcast among others and it shows in his mannerisms at times. He is generally a pleasant and decent young man (19), but of course not perfect, and still sort of rebelling. He is beginning to look for work identifying magic items.

Although I get away with it because I am a healer... there are some that find my associating with those of other castes distasteful. I chalk it up to the fact that "For all I know my parents may have been in any caste sense no one seems to know much about my parents anyways... " and "I had to find nourishment wherever I could since it was not always freely given" plus "There are a lot of need for my herbal remedies, even perhaps especially amongst the lower castes" (<---my save all as a cover up for the fact that I am curious and nosy about almost everything amongst members of any caste) (My nosiness perhaps far more intensified because I hope that I may find out more about my parents, or perhaps it is just my nature, perhaps both). Also I know that I have a lot of marketable skills, even if I am not necessarily an expert at any of them.

1st level spells...

1. sleep (a spell I am good at and learned to use to ease suffering while I make my herbal remedies),

2. identify (a spell I learned in order to identify curious items I came across-when no one was looking or everyone was asleep... I have also fancied one day using this spell to make extra income as an identifier of rare items),

3. magic missile (a spell I haven't used as much and that I sometimes get confused with mount, or find familiar, or the summoning of some other sort of creature... in fact I seem to have a strong desire to want to summon things and an aversion to using magic missiles... I once summoned a friendly bear which I sold to an entertainer...

4. charm person (again a spell I used to charm my way near to curious items or places I wanted to explore...almost always under the guise of searching for a needed herb, moving to a better healing location, and/or needing privacy with the patient... of course I haven't tried this with the more suspicious lower castes).
